Naturalizer is a another comfortable brand for people with problem feet.

I find Easy Spirit shoes to be pretty comfortable. Not the best looking shoes on the particular link I chose, but they have lots of choices.

Footprints is a shoe store in Connecticut that is known for carrying a ton of shoes in wide widths, narrow widths, problem feet etc. You might be able to find something like it closer to you. It's not cheap (upper end of your price range for shoes), but I go there when I can't find anything that's comfortable.
