Lauren is is looking for Mascara Mascara Mascara

The age old question. I need a mascara. I have yet to find "the one". I want to look like I am wearing fake lashes (volume and thickness), I do not want the mascara to make my few eye lashes fall out (as many seem to do), and I tend to stay away from waterproof because of that very issue. All suggestions welcome! What is the best right now? (PS I am one of the few loners who do not like the Dior Show Mascara).
