Ok, so I know the Apple keyboard is expensive but I really love mine. Many competitor keyboards lack certain design features that I would miss. This one is inclined so typing on a flat surface like a desk feels more comfortable and requires only two AA batteries (my friends have keyboards that require four AAA batteries which seems inconvenient to me). Though for the most part, functionality is replicated across brands -- most can adjust volume and iPod playback -- not all of them can adjust brightness and, as far as I'm aware, none other has the "Eject" key in the upper right hand corner. This seems like a trivial detail but hitting the Eject key on the Apple Wireless Keyboard brings up the on-screen keyboard which allows me to quickly access the extended punctuation much more quickly. It's little details that make the difference, especially when performing mundane tasks like typing out long emails. And with your budget, I think you can afford to get the keyboard case that I love as well. Product to follow.

So I wanted a case for my wireless keyboard. Why spend all that money if you won't protect your investment? This case is amazing. The keyboard snaps into it so it doesn't slide around. In its closed state, it somewhat resembles an iPad with the black smart cover, only velcroed with two tabs to shut. While I have a mild aversion to velcro, its function is not just as an enclosure. In its open state, the velcro tabs swing behind and stick together so that you can prop up your iPad and create a little workstation. It's pretty genius. I've seen other companies try to create a similar product with their iPad cases, using hard plastic, but they honestly feel more cheaply constructed and significantly less secure (the keyboards in those cases is not secured inside and slide out). This case is low-profile so doesn't add much bulk or weight while still preserving the inclined design of the keyboard. Plus: it's pretty! Oh, and functional and some other stuff too... I highly recommend this product (I've already convinced many of my friends to abandon their cheaper alternatives, pay up and upgrade, because it really does make a difference).
