I am also in Montreal and hate paying those import fees. I have a trick, though...I buy lots off eBay. Because the sellers are spread out all over and can put stuff in various packaging, just get them to write 'gift' or 'returning a lost item' or whatever on the customs slip and ask them not to include the bill. I don't know where these are shipping from, but you can ask them.
